Tue Mar 04 17:55:15 UTC 2025: ## Foreign Medical Graduates Demand Exam Reform and Fair Treatment

**KOCHI, March 4, 2025** – The All Foreign Medical Doctors and Parents Association has appealed to Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda to address several concerns faced by foreign medical graduates and overseas medical students in India. In a letter to the minister, the association highlighted issues with the foreign medical graduate examination, internship requirements, and registration processes.

The association is demanding greater transparency in the examination process, including the release of question papers and answer keys, and the provision of re-evaluation opportunities. They argue that the current exam’s difficulty level is inappropriately high, exceeding the undergraduate standard. Furthermore, the group seeks a standardized stipend system and the removal of internship time limits.

As an alternative solution, the association suggests implementing the National Exit Test for foreign medical graduates, mirroring the process for Indian MBBS graduates. Finally, they criticized the perceived devaluation of foreign medical graduates from internationally recognized universities and urged a faster processing of registration numbers. The letter concludes with a plea for fair and equitable treatment of all foreign medical professionals in India.
