**Hyderabad, March 5, 2025** – Popular Telugu singer Kalpana attempted suicide by ingesting sleeping pills, causing a stir in the Telugu film industry. Police discovered her unconscious at her home in Vertex Privilege Villa after her husband, Prasad, contacted building security expressing concern when she wouldn’t answer calls. Security personnel forced entry and found her in a critical condition. She was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital where she is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
Singer Kalpana’s husband, Prasad, has been taken into custody by the KP H B police station for questioning. Fellow singers Sunitha and Sri Krishna visited Kalpana at the hospital.
The reason behind Kalpana’s suicide attempt remains unclear, although police are investigating. While building security stated that the couple appeared to have a normal relationship, the investigation is ongoing.
