**Hyderabad, March 4, 2025** – Popular Telugu playback singer Kalpana was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad after a suspected suicide attempt. Security personnel at her gated community, Vertex Pree Village in Nizampet, contacted authorities after noticing her front door had been closed for two days. Attempts to contact her by phone were unsuccessful, leading to police involvement.
Upon arrival, police found Kalpana unconscious and suspected she had ingested sleeping pills. She is currently receiving treatment in the hospital and is reported to be on a ventilator. Her husband arrived from Chennai. Fellow singers Sunitha and Sri Krishna visited the hospital to inquire about her condition.
Kalpana is known for her contributions to the Telugu film industry, with popular songs including “Ammadu Appacchee Nuvvante Nee Picchi” from Chiranjeevi’s *Indhra* and “Hey Gongura Thota Kaada Kapu Kasha” from Ravi Teja’s *Venky*. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
