**Isfahan, Iran –** The Isfahan Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow weather alerts for the province, warning of a significant storm system bringing heavy rain, snow, and strong winds. The alerts are effective from late tomorrow through the weekend.

According to Mina Moetamedi, a meteorologist at the department, the system will bring increased cloud cover, rain, and snow starting late tomorrow, with the heaviest snowfall and strongest winds expected from Thursday evening through Sunday. These conditions will be particularly severe in western and southern Isfahan, including the cities of Boyin Miandasht, Samireh, Khansar, Fereydunshahr, Dehaghan, Shahriz, Fereydan, Golpayegan, and Chadegan.

The orange alert warns of potential hazards including:

* **Heavy snowfall and blizzards in mountainous areas.**
* **Strong winds and reduced visibility.**
* **Icy roads and disruptions to transportation.**
* **Flooding and waterlogging in urban areas.**
* **Avalanche risk.**
* **Damage to infrastructure and agriculture.**

The yellow alert, effective from late tomorrow through Sunday morning, covers a wider area and highlights the risk of heavy snow and rain, strong winds, fog, reduced visibility, and blizzards in mountainous and cold regions.

Moetamedi urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in mountainous areas, and to equip vehicles with winter supplies. She also advised against outdoor activities such as hiking and advised preparedness from emergency services, road maintenance crews, and municipalities for snow removal and managing energy resources. Temperatures are expected to gradually increase from this afternoon until the end of the week, although 24 cities in Isfahan reported sub-zero temperatures today. While temperatures in some areas are expected to rise to 12°C, others, such as Boyin Miandasht will remain at -10°C.
