Tue Mar 04 11:18:56 UTC 2025: ## Trump Halts US Military Aid to Ukraine, Jeopardizing Billions in Support

**Washington D.C.** – A dramatic shift in US policy towards Ukraine has left the country’s future defense hanging in the balance. Following a reported clash with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, former President Donald Trump has ordered a pause on all further military aid to Ukraine, reversing years of unwavering support.

Since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, the United States had provided a staggering $65.9 billion in military assistance to Ukraine under the Biden administration. This aid included a wide array of crucial weaponry, according to a State Department list from January 20th, the last day of the Biden administration.

The aid package comprised sophisticated air defense systems (including Patriot, NASAMS, HAWK systems, and thousands of Stinger missiles), over 200 155mm howitzers and millions of artillery rounds, more than 40 HIMARS rocket launchers, over 10,000 Javelin anti-tank missiles, and tens of thousands of other anti-vehicle weapons. The US also supplied tanks (Abrams and T-72B), helicopters (Mi-17), armored vehicles (Bradleys, Humvees), and a vast amount of smaller arms, ammunition, and other essential equipment.

While a US defense official confirmed that shipments of previously approved munitions, such as anti-tank weapons and artillery rounds, continue, the future of US military aid to Ukraine remains uncertain under Trump’s leadership. The pause raises serious concerns about Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against the ongoing Russian aggression. The implications of this decision are expected to have significant global ramifications.
