Mon Mar 03 19:14:10 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Hospitals Receive Four New Dialysis Machines Thanks to Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative
**Chennai, March 4, 2025** – Four new dialysis machines were launched today at Chennai Corporation hospitals and Tanker Foundation units in Vellore and Tiruppur. The Rs. 30.38 lakh initiative is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project undertaken by Five Star Business Finance Limited.
The machines were inaugurated by L. Sivaramakrishnan, Manager – CSR, Five Star Business Finance Limited, and attended by Thousand Lights MLA Ezhilan. The Valluvarkottam dialysis unit, where one of the machines was installed, is supported by the Greater Chennai Corporation, Rotary Club of Madras East, the CMCHIS, and numerous donors.
Latha A. Kumaraswami, Managing Trustee of TANKER Foundation, highlighted the importance of replacing dialysis machines every seven years to maintain high-quality patient care. Since its inception in June 1993, TANKER has provided 743,805 free and subsidized dialysis treatments and over Rs. 4.40 crore in financial aid for transplantation, medication, investigations, and fistula surgeries. Currently, TANKER facilitates approximately 9,283 dialysis sessions monthly, with 9,180 being free thanks to support from the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme (CMCHIS), the Greater Chennai Corporation, and other donors. The foundation currently assists 880 patients.
