Tue Mar 04 14:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Air India Switches Tokyo Flights to Haneda, Expands Codeshare with ANA

**New Delhi, [Date]** – Air India is significantly upgrading its service to Japan. Starting April 1st, 2025, the airline will shift its Delhi-Tokyo flights from Narita International Airport (NRT) to the more conveniently located Haneda Airport (HND). Haneda, situated just 18 kilometers from downtown Tokyo, offers a significantly reduced travel time to Tokyo Station – approximately 30 minutes compared to nearly an hour from Narita.

This move coincides with an expansion of Air India’s codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways (ANA), initially established last April. Subject to regulatory approvals, Air India will add its code (‘AI’) to ANA flights connecting Haneda to six other Japanese cities: Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, and Sapporo. This will allow seamless travel for Air India passengers to these destinations on a single ticket with through baggage check-in. Conversely, ANA will add its code (‘NH’) to Air India flights between Delhi and Haneda, as well as on Air India’s domestic routes connecting Delhi with Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune.

The codeshare agreement streamlines bookings and offers passengers a more integrated travel experience. The shift to Haneda Airport promises improved convenience and shorter travel times for Air India passengers visiting Tokyo.
