**TIRUMALA, March 4, 2025** – In a swift operation, Tirumala police rescued a four-year-old girl, Deekshita, who had gone missing near the main temple in Tirumala on Monday evening. Deekshita was reunited with her parents, K. Karunashree and K. Narasimhulu, within a couple of hours of the incident.
Police responded immediately to the parents’ complaint, utilizing wireless communication, WhatsApp groups, and informant networks to disseminate information. A district-wide vehicle check was implemented, and allied units were alerted via the command control center.
Crucially, CCTV footage helped identify a woman, later identified as 50-year-old Venkataramani, boarding a bus with the child. Tips from local sanitary workers led police to Venkataramani’s residence in Chinnakapu layout, where Deekshita was safely recovered.
Tirupati Superintendent of Police Harshavardhan Raju praised the police teams for their efficient and rapid response. Venkataramani is now in custody.
