Mon Mar 03 02:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Capitals Storm into WPL Playoffs with Dominant Win Over RCB

**Bengaluru:** Delhi Capitals (DC) secured their place in the WPL 2025 playoffs with a resounding nine-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. A breathtaking unbeaten 146-run partnership between Shafali Verma (80*) and Jess Jonassen (61*) decimated the RCB bowling attack, chasing down the target of 148 in just 15.3 overs.

RCB, once again heavily reliant on Ellyse Perry, struggled to build a substantial total. Perry top-scored with a 60* run knock, but received little support, with Raghvi Bist’s 33 being the only other significant contribution. Their innings faltered in the death overs, managing only 41 runs in the final five. Shikha Pandey (2-24) and debutant Nallapureddy Charani (2-28) were the pick of the DC bowlers, exploiting RCB’s batting frailties.

The match saw RCB captain Smriti Mandhana lose her fourth consecutive toss, and their batting lineup once again failed to deliver. DC’s disciplined bowling and some dropped catches by RCB kept the pressure on the home side. Despite Perry’s efforts, RCB’s batting collapse in the death overs proved costly.

In response, DC’s openers initially faced a challenge from Renuka Singh Thakur, but Verma and Jonassen’s explosive partnership quickly turned the tide. Their attacking approach put RCB’s bowlers under immense pressure, as they effortlessly steered DC to victory with ample overs to spare. The win marks a significant turnaround for DC and a disappointing end to a disastrous home leg for RCB, who lost all four matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
