**TIRUNELVELI, March 3, 2025** – Two men have been detained under the Goondas Act for allegedly selling banned tobacco products in Tirunelveli City. P. Shanmugasundaram (32) and M. Kodimuthu (41) were arrested by Tirunelveli City Police following recommendations from Deputy Commissioner G. Geetha and Assistant Commissioner of Police N. Dharshika. Police Commissioner Santosh Hadimani authorized the detention under the provisions of the Goondas Act. The arrests come as part of a crackdown on the illegal sale of banned tobacco products in the city.
