Mon Mar 03 15:47:20 UTC 2025: **Jana Sena Leader Pushes for Brother’s MLC Nomination**
Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party (JSP) president K. Pawan Kalyan advocated for his brother, JSP general secretary K. Nagababu, to receive a nominated seat in the Legislative Council (MLC) during a meeting with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday. The MLC elections are scheduled for March 20th.
While discussing various issues, including rural development and water supply initiatives, Kalyan reiterated his support for Nagababu’s candidacy. This follows previous discussions regarding a Rajya Sabha nomination and a now-unfulfilled promise of a cabinet position for Nagababu in December 2024. A TDP leader indicated that Nagababu’s MLC nomination has already received approval.
Nagababu’s previous electoral performance saw him placing third in the 2019 Narsapuram Lok Sabha constituency race. The upcoming MLC elections involve five seats, with the JSP and BJP each vying for one nomination. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners are currently evaluating various factors to determine their candidates.
