**JALANDHAR, PUNJAB –** A popular pastor with a significant online presence has been accused of sexual harassment and is facing criminal charges. Police in Jalandhar district, Punjab, registered a case against Pastor Bajinder Singh on Sunday following a complaint from a woman.
Singh, known for his viral “Mera Yeshu Yeshu” video which garnered him a large following on platforms like YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, allegedly began harassing the woman after obtaining her phone number in 2017. The complainant, who, along with her family, has attended his church since 2017, stated that Singh’s harassment escalated in 2022. She alleges that he repeatedly made her sit alone in a church cabin, where he hugged and inappropriately touched her. Fearful of the pastor, she claims she was unable to disclose the incidents to her parents earlier.
The case against Singh includes charges under sections 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is ongoing. It is notable that Singh’s online popularity has included endorsements from Bollywood celebrities such as Chunky Pandey and Aditya Pancholi.
