**Kozhikode, March 3, 2025** – A young male leopard was successfully rescued by forest department officials in Wayanad district, Kerala, on Sunday. The approximately two-year-old animal had become trapped in a fence at Nedumpala.
A rescue operation, involving personnel from the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and a rapid response team, commenced around 1 p.m. The area was secured before the leopard was sedated and safely placed in a trap cage. After receiving supportive fluids and an antidote, the leopard was transported to the Vythiri Forest Station where it remains under observation.
