Mon Mar 03 00:30:00 UTC 2025: ## BJP Faces Dalit Outcry Over Fund Diversion in Karnataka

**Bengaluru, March 3, 2025** – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka is facing criticism from Dalit organizations over the alleged diversion of funds earmarked for Dalit welfare schemes to the state government’s guarantee schemes. The issue came to light following a meeting on March 2nd, 2025, presided over by Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy.

Approximately 80 Dalit organizations attended the meeting, expressing deep concern over the misallocation of funds. Narayanaswamy stated that the diversion suggests Dalits were not initially included in the government’s guarantee programs and that funds designated for their welfare are now being redirected to cover this omission.

The Dalit organizations have vowed to collectively oppose further fund diversions, even pursuing legal action if necessary. This development comes ahead of the upcoming legislative session and follows earlier claims by BJP leader Vijayendra regarding the reallocation of SCSP/TSP funds for the guarantee schemes. The BJP is now facing pressure to address these accusations and ensure the intended beneficiaries receive the allocated funds.
