**Srinagar, March 3, 2025** – The Khelo India Winter Games (KIWG) 2025, initially scheduled for February 22-25, have been postponed due to insufficient snowfall in Gulmarg. However, the games are now confirmed to take place from March 9th to 12th, following recent heavy snowfall in the region.
The games, which will feature skiing and snowboarding competitions, mark the second leg of the KIWG 2025. The first leg was held in Leh, Ladakh in January, encompassing ice skating and ice hockey. Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council secretary Nuzhat Gul confirmed the new dates, stating that preparations are complete and athletes from across India are expected to participate. The postponement was necessary due to Kashmir experiencing one of its driest winters in recent memory.
