Mon Mar 03 15:40:50 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Assembly in Uproar After AAP MLA’s X Post During Session

**New Delhi** – The Delhi Assembly witnessed chaotic scenes today following an AAP MLA’s social media post during a session. Jarnail Singh, MLA for Tilak Nagar, took a photograph inside the assembly and shared it on X (formerly Twitter), sparking outrage among BJP MLAs.

The post, which has since been deleted, showed the assembly during a debate and questioned the absence of ministers. This action violated assembly rules prohibiting photography during sessions.

BJP MLAs, including PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, condemned Singh’s actions, calling it a serious breach of privilege. BJP MLA Ajay Mahawar even demanded the confiscation of Singh’s phone.

Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta issued a warning to Singh, demanding an apology and the immediate deletion of the post. While Singh expressed regret, claiming he was highlighting the lack of ministerial presence, he initially hesitated to remove the post, prompting further conflict. He eventually complied after a second warning.

The Speaker clarified that official live-streaming is permitted, but individual photography and videography are strictly forbidden.

The incident overshadowed ongoing tensions between the ruling BJP and the AAP over the CAG report on Delhi’s health infrastructure. This report has been a major point of contention, recently culminating in the three-day suspension of all but one AAP MLA, including the leader of the opposition. Today marked their return to the assembly.
