Mon Mar 03 16:24:55 UTC 2025: ## Over 40,000 Students Sit for Class 12 Exams in Tamil Nadu

**Dindigul, Theni, and Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu – March 3, 2025** – Over 40,000 students in the districts of Dindigul, Theni, and Virudhunagar commenced their Class 12 public examinations on Monday. A total of 20,786 students in Dindigul and 13,020 in Theni participated, with a combined absence rate of approximately 1%. In Dindigul, 9,821 boys and 10,965 girls sat for the exams across 86 centers; while Theni saw 6,245 boys and 6,775 girls across 54 centers. District Collectors oversaw the smooth functioning of the examinations, ensuring adequate facilities were available at all centers.

In Virudhunagar, 22,224 students were scheduled to take the exams, with 420 absences reported across 98 centers. The first paper was the Part I language exam, including Tamil.

Officials from the School Education Department monitored the exams in all three districts. The exams are expected to continue for the coming days.
