**Thiruvananthapuram, March 2, 2025** – The Kerala Assembly’s 13th session will reconvene on Monday, March 3rd, after a brief recess. The remaining sittings, concluding March 25th, will focus on several crucial bills and the budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
The session is expected to be lively, with debates anticipated on various contentious issues. These include the ongoing protests by Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), the recent rise in youth crime, and the state government’s response (or lack thereof) to the central government’s offshore sand mining proposal.
Several key bills will be introduced on Monday, including amendments to Kerala University laws and the establishment and regulation of private universities. The Kerala Appropriation Bill, along with amendments to the state’s sports and industrial infrastructure development bills, will also be tabled.
After meetings on Monday and Tuesday, the Assembly will adjourn briefly before resuming on March 10th. The Finance Minister, K.N. Balagopal, presented the state budget on February 7th.
