NAGARKURNOOL, Andhra Pradesh – Eight workers died after a tunnel collapsed at the SLBC Tunnel project in Domalapenta, Nagarkurnool district. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced he will visit the accident site on Sunday evening at 5 PM along with Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, and Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari. The visit follows the official announcement of the deaths by Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Saturday.
According to Acchampet MLA Vamshikrishna, the bodies were identified using radar technology. He indicated that ongoing excavation efforts suggest the bodies may be recovered by midday on Monday. Heavy security arrangements are being made under the supervision of Hyderabad Range IG Satyanarayana for the Chief Minister’s visit. The MLA expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of life.
