**New Delhi, March 2, 2025** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the tentative dates for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions. The exam will be held from May 8 to June 1, 2025. Applications opened on March 1 and will close on March 22.

The NTA clarified that the schedule is tentative, with a detailed schedule to be released later. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Introduced in 2022, CUET-UG aims to standardize undergraduate admissions across central, state, and select private universities. Replacing numerous individual entrance exams, it assesses candidates on language skills, domain-specific subjects, and general aptitude, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The 2024 exam saw a slight decrease in registrations compared to 2023, with 13.47 lakh candidates registering compared to 14.99 lakh. The 2024 exam utilized a hybrid format, offering both online and offline options. A diverse range of candidates participated, including 7.17 lakh males, 6.30 lakh females, and seven transgender individuals.
