Sat Mar 01 22:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Bhopal Braces for Unusually Early Heatwave in March

**Bhopal, March 2nd, 2024:** Bhopal is expected to experience unusually high temperatures early in March this year, according to Ved Prakash Singh, a senior scientist at the Bhopal Meteorological Center. While March in Bhopal typically sees a mix of cold, warm, and rainy weather, the city has seen a trend in recent years of experiencing its highest temperatures in the last three days of the month. However, this year’s forecast suggests a shift in this pattern.

Singh stated that the first two weeks of March are predicted to see significantly warmer temperatures than usual. The first week will likely be a mix of cloudy days and days with temperatures reaching 32-34°C or higher. The second week anticipates temperatures exceeding 34°C on one or two occasions, with potential cloud cover towards the end of the week.

The third week is expected to bring even hotter temperatures, potentially reaching 34-35°C or higher on several days, with nighttime temperatures around 18-19°C. A day with heatwave-like conditions is also possible. The final week is predicted to be the hottest, with temperatures potentially exceeding 38°C on two or three days and the possibility of heatwave conditions on one or two days.

Over the past ten years, Bhopal has experienced six periods of intense heat in March, and nine instances of rainfall amidst the warm weather. In five of those years, cold weather persisted into the first half of the month. While the city’s climate is known for its variability throughout the month, this year’s forecast indicates an early arrival of intense heat. Saturday saw a slight dip in temperatures, with a daytime high of 32.8°C and a nighttime low of 17.9°C.
