**SHIVAMOGGA, March 1, 2025** – Karnataka Cooperation Minister K.N. Rajanna has criticized Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar for attending an Isha Foundation event during Shivarathri celebrations. Rajanna questioned the appropriateness of Shivakumar sharing a stage with Jaggi Vasudev, the founder of the Isha Foundation, citing Vasudev’s previous statement that he did not know who Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was.

Rajanna, speaking to the media in Hassan on Saturday, stated that Shivakumar, also the president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), should explain his participation given Vasudev’s comments. The minister’s remarks followed a review meeting with Hassan legislators and officials, during which he also announced his intention to relinquish his responsibility as Minister in charge of Hassan district, a request he claims to have submitted to the Chief Minister a month and a half ago.

MLA C.N. Balakrishna of the Janata Dal (Secular) appealed to Rajanna to reconsider his decision, emphasizing the potential negative impact on development projects in the district.
