**San Francisco, CA –** Pokémon GO trainers are gearing up for the Unova Tour, a major in-game event running from March 1st to March 2nd, 2025, celebrating Pokémon Black and White. To prepare, Niantic has significantly increased player storage limits – Pokémon storage is now 9,800, and item storage is 8,800.
In honor of Pokémon Day 2025, several free in-game codes have been released. Players can redeem GOTourUNOVA on the Pokémon GO website to unlock a Timed Research task rewarding one of the Unova starters: Snivy, Tepig, or Oshawott. This research must be completed by March 9th. Additional codes, RCC4AJPAUCW86 and WJ5DFWASCL65W, each provide 50 Fusion Energy (Blaze and Volt respectively), useful for creating Black and White Kyurem. These codes expire on March 2nd. Further codes for legendary Pokémon encounters (Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus) are still active until March 1st.
The Pokémon Presents showcase on February 27th also revealed a new game, Pokémon Champions, described as an official version of Pokémon Showdown, coming to platforms beyond Nintendo systems. Players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can also claim a new item in anticipation of upcoming 7-star Tera Raids. Finally, a first look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A, launching on Nintendo Switch in late 2025, was revealed, showcasing a glimpse of Lumiose City and its starting Pokémon trio.
