**Karimnagar, Telangana –** Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday sharply criticized Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay for comparing the BJP to Team India and the Congress to Pakistan’s cricket team in the context of upcoming MLC elections. Goud called the comparison “ridiculous and unbecoming of a Union Minister,” speaking to reporters in Karimnagar.
Goud accused the BJP of employing communal tactics in every election and questioned the party’s attempt to link India’s cricket victories to electoral success. He further alleged a secret deal between the BJP and the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), citing the BRS’s absence from the MLC elections.
The Congress leader also criticized the BJP for spreading false propaganda against the Congress government on social media, claiming it stemmed from the BJP’s inability to counter the Congress’s welfare initiatives and the historic caste census. He further condemned Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay for their silence regarding what he described as the central government’s unfair treatment of Telangana in the recent Union Budget, specifically criticizing their failure to secure funds for ambitious Telangana projects. The statements were made on the final day of campaigning for the February 27th MLC polls.
