Shabad, February 21 – A tenth-grade girl attempted suicide by consuming spirits after a falling out with a friend. The incident occurred at Amanagallu Gurukul School in Shabad mandal. The student, identified as Srija, reportedly drank the spirits Friday morning due to an argument with her friend.
School teachers noticed Srija’s distress and immediately rushed her to Osmania General Hospital in the city for treatment. Hospital officials confirmed she is now recovering and in stable condition.
Following the incident, Shadnagar Division Deputy DME&HO Vijayalakshmi, Mandal Education Officer Lakshman Nayak, CI Kant Reddy, and SI Ramesh visited the school. They spoke with the principal, Vinol, teachers, and students to gather details. The principal confirmed Srija’s actions were a result of the argument with her friend and that she received prompt medical attention.
