**Raipur, February 22, 2025** – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced a crackdown on non-governmental organizations (NGOs) allegedly misusing foreign funds for religious conversions. Speaking on Friday, Mr. Sai stated that the state government will scrutinize the activities of such NGOs, implementing strict laws to prevent forced religious conversions and taking legal action against those found involved.

This follows Mr. Sai’s earlier statement on Thursday, where he vowed zero tolerance for any organization attempting to destabilize society through conversions. He confirmed the state government will collaborate with the central government and enforcement agencies to curb such activities.

The Chief Minister also weighed in on the controversy surrounding the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), citing former U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to shut down the agency due to alleged misuse of taxpayer funds. Mr. Sai stated that revelations are emerging about the arbitrary use of USAID funding in India. The state government’s investigation will focus on ensuring foreign funds intended for health and education are not diverted for religious conversion purposes.
