Fri Feb 21 22:22:19 UTC 2025: ## Delhi’s New CM Gupta Begins Term with Focus on Accountability and Welfare
**New Delhi, February 21, 2025** – Delhi’s newly sworn-in Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has begun her term with a strong emphasis on transparency and public welfare. Following a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Gupta announced a 100-day plan focusing on key initiatives. These include cleaning the Yamuna River and developing its riverfront, presenting pending CAG reports to the Assembly, and implementing the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY healthcare scheme.
Gupta, the only woman Chief Minister among the 16 BJP-ruled states, has pledged to hold the previous AAP government accountable for alleged financial irregularities. She stated that she is initiating reviews of all government departments to ensure efficient resource allocation and the successful implementation of welfare schemes. The Delhi BJP President, Virendra Sachdeva, further underscored this commitment to fiscal responsibility, highlighting the party’s self-funded oath-taking ceremony, contrasting it with the alleged lavish spending of previous administrations. Sachdeva criticized the AAP government’s use of public funds for self-promotion in past oath-taking ceremonies. Gupta’s administration has vowed to avoid such practices.
