**Bengaluru, February 22, 2025** – The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) hosted a roundtable discussion focusing on the crucial role of sub-national policies in tackling climate change. Organized by IIM-B’s Centre for Management Communication (CenComm) and the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), the event built upon CEE’s recent publication, “Role of Sub-National Policies in Addressing the Climate Change Challenge – Learnings from Karnataka’s SAPCC.”

The discussion aimed to bridge the gap between international climate commitments and effective local implementation. Panelists included Judith Weinberger-Singh, Resident Representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation India, who highlighted the importance of international collaborations in advancing climate action, using EU initiatives as examples. Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar, IAS, Chairman of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), emphasized the vital role of sub-national governments in building climate resilience, particularly in water management and urban sustainability. Srinivasa C. K., General Manager – Sustainability (ESG) at Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., offered a corporate perspective, discussing sustainable mobility and the automotive industry’s contribution to a greener future.

The event drew a diverse audience including IIM-B faculty and students, industry professionals, entrepreneurs focused on sustainability, and representatives from other institutions.
