**Chennai, February 21, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government announced the appointment of noted writer and Sahitya Akademi Award winner Imayam alias V. Annamalai as the new Vice-Chairperson of the State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Four other members were also named: S. Selvakumar (Coimbatore), S. Ananda Raja (Thanjavur), M. Pon Dhous (Nilgiris), and P. Ilanchezhian (Tirunelveli), the latter receiving a re-nomination. The appointments were revealed on Thursday.
