**VISAKHAPATNAM, February 20, 2025** – Advocates from seven districts in Andhra Pradesh will convene a conference on February 23rd to renew their decades-long demand for a High Court bench in Visakhapatnam. The conference, to be held at the District Court premises, will see participation from lawyers representing Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitharama Raju, and Kakinada districts.
Visakhapatnam Bar Association president Bevara Satyanarayana highlighted that the demand, initially raised in 1993, is crucial given that approximately 43% of pending High Court cases originate from this region. The association is also advocating for the establishment of a Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Visakhapatnam.
