**Prayagraj, India** – Uttar Pradesh police have launched a crackdown on the illegal filming and distribution of videos showing women bathing at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela, arresting those involved in selling and buying such content. Authorities have identified 103 social media accounts, primarily on Telegram and Instagram, linked to the crime and filed FIRs (First Information Reports).

The police’s social media monitoring team discovered several platforms uploading videos that violated the privacy and dignity of women at the massive religious gathering. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Vaibhav Krishna stated that this is a criminal offense under the IT Act and that both buyers and sellers of these videos will face arrest.

The Maha Kumbh Mela, a six-week event attracting an estimated 500 million devotees, is a significant religious pilgrimage for Hindus.
