Thu Feb 20 13:10:00 UTC 2025: ## India Dominates Bangladesh in Champions Trophy Opener

**Kolkata, India –** India made a commanding start to their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, dismantling Bangladesh in a dominant display. Winning the toss, Bangladesh elected to bat first on a seemingly batsman-friendly pitch, but suffered a catastrophic batting collapse from the very first over.

The early wickets of Najmul Hossain Shanto and another batsman left Bangladesh reeling at 2/2. While Mehidy Hasan Miraz initially offered some resistance in a partnership with Tanzim Hasan Tamim, his innings was cut short by a stunning catch from Indian vice-captain Shubman Gill. Gill, positioned at gully, executed a diving catch to dismiss Miraz off a Mohammed Shami delivery.

At the close of the seventh over, Bangladesh found themselves in deep trouble at 26/3. India, led by Rohit Sharma, will be looking to capitalize on this early advantage and secure a comprehensive victory.
