**Bradenton, FL** – Former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Scott Sauerbeck passed away Tuesday at the age of 53 from a fatal heart attack, according to Pittsburgh Baseball Now reporter John Perrotto. Sauerbeck, a left-handed reliever, spent five of his seven major league seasons with the Pirates, compiling a 19-15 record and a 3.82 ERA in 308 innings pitched. He also played for the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, and Oakland Athletics. The Pirates organization has yet to release an official statement.
