NEW DELHI – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 Science exam concluded today across 7,842 centers in India and 26 locations abroad. Approximately 42 lakh students are sitting for the Class 10 and 12 board exams this year. The three-hour exam, which began at 10:30 am, was conducted under strict security measures to prevent cheating, with students undergoing thorough checks and electronic devices strictly prohibited.

The 80-mark paper comprised five sections, testing students with a diverse range of question types, including MCQs, reason-assertion questions, and case-based questions assessing competency and application of knowledge. Feedback from students and educators suggests a balanced paper with a mix of easy, moderate, and challenging questions. While some minor issues, such as incomplete data in one MCQ, were reported, overall student reaction was positive, with many finding the paper manageable and aligned with the NCERT textbook.

Dr. Arti Chopra, principal of Amity International School, Gurugram, noted that approximately 46% of the questions were easy to moderate, while application-based questions constituted 22% and competency-based questions made up 32%. Renu Tewari, Department Head of Science at Vidyagyan School, Bulandshahar, described the paper as balanced, emphasizing its focus on application and higher-order thinking skills. Students reportedly found the biology section easier than physics and chemistry.

The CBSE had earlier addressed and refuted online claims of a paper leak, stating that such rumors were baseless and intended to cause unnecessary anxiety among students. The board reiterated its commitment to maintaining exam integrity and taking action against those spreading misinformation.
