**Perundurai, Tamil Nadu, February 19, 2025** – A devastating fire destroyed six huts in Bharathi Nagar, Perundurai, on Wednesday evening. The blaze, which started around 5 p.m., rapidly consumed the homes and their contents.
The fire originated in the hut of a daily wage worker, Ponnusamy, who was at work when the incident occurred. Local residents attempted to control the flames before firefighters arrived, but the fire spread too quickly. While firefighters extinguished the blaze within an hour, all six huts were completely destroyed.
The Perundurai police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported.
