Wed Feb 19 14:08:31 UTC 2025: ## Rajasthan Unveils Budget 2025-26: Focus on Youth Employment, Farmers, and Green Initiatives

**Jaipur, India** – Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, Diya Kumari, presented the state’s budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 on Wednesday. The budget, finalized on Tuesday, prioritizes key sectors including employment generation for youth, farmer welfare, and environmental sustainability.

Significant allocations have been made towards creating employment opportunities for young people, empowering women, and providing relief to farmers. The budget also includes provisions for improved education for students.

Key highlights of the budget include:

* **Green Initiatives:** Over ₹27,000 crore allocated for green initiatives, including planting 10 crore trees under the “Mission Hariyali Rajasthan” program. All government departments and the Jaldaya department’s pumps will be transitioned to solar energy. ₹300 crore will be spent on cleaning and greening a dozen religious cities under the Clean & Green City scheme.

* **Agriculture:** The amount under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme has been increased to ₹9,000. The government will recruit 100 new veterinary doctors and 1,000 livestock inspectors. Farmers using bullocks for farming will receive annual assistance of ₹30,000.

* **Infrastructure:** Over ₹5,000 crore will be invested in upgrading roads and bridges. Nine greenfield expressways totaling over 2,750 km will be constructed at a cost of ₹60,000 crore under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model. An additional 21,000 km of roads will be built at a cost of ₹6,000 crore. Every assembly constituency will receive ₹10 crore (₹15 crore in desert areas) for non-paved road work. 1600 settlements will be connected by paved roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. Over 5,000 rural towns will see the construction of Atal Pragati Paths using cement concrete.

* **Law and Order:** A new citizen security act will be implemented to improve law and order. The police force will be bolstered with 3,500 new positions and 1,000 new vehicles over two years.

* **Other Initiatives:** MLA assistance centers will be established in all assembly constituencies, equipped with laptops. Agniveers will receive reservations in police, forest, and fire services.

The budget was prepared by the same finance department officials who drafted the budgets under the previous Ashok Gehlot government, despite the change in ruling party from Congress to BJP. The continuity of officials highlights a focus on consistent policy implementation.
