**Bhubaneswar, Odisha – February 19, 2025** – The Odisha government, led by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, unveiled a new initiative aimed at tackling corruption in public works projects. The “Work Passbook” is a digital system designed to meticulously document all government projects, past and present. This initiative will leverage technology to increase transparency and accountability.
The system will assign unique identification numbers to each project, incorporating geo-tagging, estimated costs, payment records, and photographic documentation at various stages of completion. This detailed information will be publicly accessible, allowing citizens to monitor project progress and expenditures. The data will also be used by authorities to assess fund allocation and project quality using artificial intelligence.
The Chief Minister stated that the “Work Passbook” is a key component of the government’s broader anti-corruption strategy, utilizing technology to enhance transparency across all levels of governance. He emphasized the government’s commitment to eliminating corruption and ensuring that public funds are used effectively.
Initially, the system will be implemented across all engineering departments in the state during the next fiscal year.
