**Mysuru, Karnataka –** An international conference on sustainable technologies, ICST 2025, commenced Wednesday at the National Institute of Engineering (NIE) in Mysuru. The two-day event, a collaboration between NIE, Fachhochschule Dortmund University (Germany), and the Institution of Engineers, India (IEI), features over 100 research papers from India and abroad.
The conference was inaugurated by several dignitaries, including Sudheendra S.E., chairman of the Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board, who highlighted Karnataka’s pioneering role in biofuel policy and the state government’s commitment to sustainability across sectors. He emphasized the transformative potential of the bioenergy sector and the board’s ongoing initiatives.
The conference focuses on key areas such as sustainable energy systems, e-mobility, sustainable materials, and green technologies. A panel discussion will explore sustainable engineering practices, education, industry policies, and circular economy models, bringing together experts from academia, industry, and policy-making to address global challenges like climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
