**San Francisco, CA** – Elon Musk’s xAI has launched Grok 3, a new AI chatbot boasting ten times the capabilities of its predecessor. Available exclusively to X Premium+ subscribers, the launch was quickly followed by a significant price hike for the subscription service.

Grok 3, described by Musk as a chatbot users will “100% fall in love with,” comes in two versions: Grok 3 beta and Grok 3 mini. Developed using 200,000 GPUs, it aims to compete with leading AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini. The enhanced AI is now accessible via a new xAI app and the grok.com website.

However, accessing Grok 3 comes at a steep price. X immediately doubled the cost of its Premium+ subscription plan following the announcement. In India, the monthly price jumped from Rs 1,750 to Rs 2,861.67, while the annual plan soared from Rs 18,300 to Rs 34,340.

X Premium+ offers a range of benefits beyond Grok 3 access, including post editing, longer posts and videos, undo options, ad-free browsing, reply boosts for creators, and monetization tools. It also includes enhanced security features like two-factor authentication (SMS-based, a premium feature on X), encrypted DMs, and verified checkmarks – features unavailable to free users.

Furthermore, xAI has introduced a “Super Grok” subscription tier offering advanced capabilities and early access to new features, accessible through both the Grok app and grok.com.

The significant price increase has sparked debate, with many questioning the value proposition of the Premium+ subscription in light of the increased cost. The move highlights the increasing monetization strategies employed by social media platforms as they integrate AI technology into their services.
