Wed Feb 19 07:26:59 UTC 2025: ## Tesla Poised to Enter Indian Market After Musk-Modi Meeting

**New Delhi, India** – Following a recent meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tesla CEO Elon Musk during Modi’s US visit, Tesla is reportedly preparing to launch in the Indian market. The electric vehicle giant is said to have finalized locations for its first showrooms in Delhi and Mumbai.

Reuters reports that Delhi’s showroom will likely be located near the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Aerocity, chosen for its proximity to hotels, retail outlets, and global corporate offices. In Mumbai, the showroom is expected to be situated near the airport in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). While opening dates remain unconfirmed, Tesla is expected to initially import its popular Model 3, Model S, and Model Y vehicles, with potential for local assembly later.

Tesla’s previous attempts to enter the Indian market were hampered by high import taxes on electric vehicles. However, recent changes in India’s EV policy, along with the positive momentum from the Musk-Modi meeting, have paved the way for the company’s expansion into the world’s third-largest auto market. The company’s move signals a significant development in India’s growing electric vehicle sector.
