Tue Feb 18 08:20:00 UTC 2025: **TCU Basketball Star Sedona Prince Faces Multiple Allegations of Abuse**
FORT WORTH, TX – Sedona Prince, star center for the highly ranked TCU women’s basketball team (23-3), is facing serious allegations of physical and mental abuse, including sexual assault. Multiple news outlets have reported on these allegations, which include a recent incident on January 18th involving a physical altercation with a former partner. Both Prince and her former partner have filed police reports alleging assault by the other. While TCU campus police responded to a call at Prince’s off-campus residence, no charges have been filed at this time, according to Prince’s attorney, A. Boone Almanza.
These allegations are not isolated. The Washington Post reported on previous accusations, including a 2022 incident with an ex-girlfriend that escalated into a social media dispute and a petition calling for Prince’s removal from the team. A 2019 incident, while Prince was at the University of Texas, involves allegations of sexual assault. A woman, identified as Alyssa Jimmie, claims Prince locked her in a car after a date and digitally penetrated her without consent. Prince denies all allegations through her attorney, stating she has never abused anyone.
TCU has released a statement saying they are aware of the allegations and are investigating, but citing federal privacy laws, they will not comment further on the matter. Prince, averaging 17.6 points per game, previously gained national attention for her TikTok videos highlighting the disparity in amenities between men’s and women’s NCAA basketball programs. The team’s next game is scheduled for Sunday against Arizona.
