**SAN FRANCISCO –** Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, today launched Grok 3, a new chatbot touted as the “smartest AI on Earth.” The announcement, which included demonstrations of Grok 3’s advanced reasoning capabilities, positions the chatbot as a direct competitor to industry leaders like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and China’s DeepSeek.

Musk emphasized Grok 3’s superior reasoning abilities, claiming it outperforms existing models in benchmark tests. While admitting the model is still under development, xAI showcased Grok 3’s success on the AIME 2025 exam, exceeding even its smaller, more extensively trained counterpart. This success is attributed to Grok 3’s focus on enhanced reasoning and contextual understanding, resulting in more accurate and relevant responses.

Grok 3 is rolling out initially to X Premium Plus subscribers, requiring an updated X app. A voice interaction feature is promised within a week.
