**Pudukottai, February 18, 2025** – A 16-year-old girl and her 18-year-old brother died in a tragic incident in Keelamedu village, Pudukottai district, on Monday night. Police reports indicate the incident stemmed from an argument over the girl’s excessive mobile phone use.
The girl, a Class XI student, reportedly engaged in a heated dispute with her brother, C. Manikandan, an electrician, after he questioned her phone usage. Following the argument, and after her brother reportedly confiscated her phone, the girl left the house and took her own life. Manikandan attempted to rescue her, but tragically died in the process.
Both bodies were sent for autopsy to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Tiruchi. Mandaiyur police have registered a case under Section 194 of the BNSS.
