**MUMBAI, February 17, 2025** – BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle giant, today launched its flagship Sealion 7 electric SUV in the Indian market. First unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025, the Sealion 7 is now available for purchase, joining the Atto 3, Seal, and eMax 7 in BYD’s Indian lineup.
The Sealion 7, a four-door coupe-style SUV boasting BYD’s Ocean series design language, features striking LED headlights, flared wheel arches, and wraparound LED taillights. Available in Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White, and Shark Grey, the SUV offers both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options, both powered by an 82.6 kWh battery pack.
The RWD variant delivers 308 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, with a range of 560 km on a single charge. The AWD variant boasts 523 bhp and 690 Nm of torque, achieving a range of 530 km.
Inside, the Sealion 7 boasts a luxurious interior with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a 12-speaker audio system, a head-up display, and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) including airbags and driver monitoring.
The Sealion 7 is expected to compete with established players like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Volvo EX40/C40 Recharge. Pricing starts at ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Premium variant and ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Performance variant. Bookings are currently open.
