**Aruppukottai, Tamil Nadu, February 17, 2025** – A head-on collision between two motorcycles on the Narikudi to Tiruppuvanam Road near Idaiyapatti resulted in the death of two men and critical injuries to a third on Saturday night. Police identified the deceased as B. Kalikumar (34) of Vaiyampatti and K. Nagappan (70) of Nedungulam. S. Kannan (32) of Vilangudi, who sustained head injuries, underwent surgery at the Government Rajaji hospital in Madurai.
According to police, Kalikumar was returning from a family function in Pillaiyarkulam with his brother when the accident occurred. The collision involved Kalikumar’s motorcycle and another bike ridden by Kannan, carrying Nagappan as a passenger. All three suffered severe head injuries and were initially taken to Tiruppuvanam Government Hospital, where Kalikumar was pronounced dead on arrival. Kannan and Nagappan were transferred to Government Rajaji Hospital, where Nagappan later succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. An investigation into the accident is underway.
