**Vijayawada, February 17, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Minister for Water Resources, Nimmala Ramanaidu, will participate in the Second Irrigation Ministers’ Conference in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on February 18th and 19th. The conference, organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, will focus on water supply and storage management under the Water Vision-2047 initiative.
Mr. Ramanaidu will present Andhra Pradesh’s new Water Policy, designed to address water scarcity challenges. The policy aims to increase groundwater levels, improve irrigation, and make the state drought-free. His presentation will also highlight the state’s innovative water management technologies and the significant losses incurred due to droughts, floods, and erratic rainfall. Key topics to be discussed include interlinking rivers, micro-irrigation, project completion, ensuring equitable water distribution, providing safe drinking water, and groundwater replenishment.
