**ELURU, February 17, 2025** – Kolusu Parthasarathy, Minister for Information and Public Relations, today urged the public not to panic over the rise in Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) cases in Eluru district. Addressing concerns, the Minister assured citizens that all government hospitals are fully stocked with essential medicines and immunoglobulin injections needed to treat the disease.

He instructed medical officials to actively dispel misinformation surrounding GBS, emphasizing the accessibility of emergency medications in cardiology, neurology, and general medicine departments. Treatment for GBS patients will be covered under the Aarogyasri scheme, the Minister added, noting that many cases resolve without treatment.

The Minister described GBS as a condition that typically starts in the legs and progresses upwards, urging people experiencing difficulty walking or those who are bedridden to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest government hospital. He also stressed the importance of maintaining good hygiene.

Furthermore, Mr. Parthasarathy directed officials to ensure sufficient stock of medications for patients with diabetes, haemophilia, and heart conditions, highlighting that these life-saving injections are readily available at regular market prices and should be accessible to all, particularly the poor, in government hospitals.
