Mon Feb 17 13:47:57 UTC 2025: ## Four Coastal Roads Inaugurated in Kerala
**Alappuzha, Feb 17, 2025** – Four new coastal roads in Kerala’s Aroor Assembly constituency were officially opened to the public on Monday. Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian virtually inaugurated the roads, highlighting the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government’s commitment to coastal development.
The newly opened roads connect Thevarvattom-Chooramana, NH 66-Anjilikadu, Market-Pattekkad, and Ayyankovil-Panickkassery. They were constructed by the Harbour Engineering department under the Fisheries department.
Minister Cherian emphasized the government’s extensive investment in coastal infrastructure. He cited the previous LDF government’s ₹783 crore expenditure on constructing 1,792 roads across 67 constituencies, with 1,631 projects completed and 32 ongoing under the current administration. These projects encompass various initiatives, including the development of fishing harbors, landing centers, markets, hospitals, fish farms, and housing schemes. The Minister noted strong public and fishing community support for these development efforts.
The inauguration was attended by MLA Daleema Jojo, and panchayat presidents Rajitha and Mary Telsia, among other officials.
