**Dubai, UAE** – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has significantly expanded its visa-on-arrival program for Indian citizens. The new policy grants visa-on-arrival access to Indians holding valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from six additional countries: Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. This builds upon existing provisions for Indians with similar documentation from the US, EU member states, and the UK.
The initiative, announced by Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the UAE’s Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP), aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the UAE and India. It is designed to facilitate easier travel for Indian citizens, opening up opportunities for tourism, residency, and employment within the UAE. The ICP also highlighted the program’s role in attracting global talent and boosting the UAE’s economy.
Eligible Indian nationals must possess a valid ordinary passport with at least six months’ validity remaining. Visa fees vary depending on the duration of stay: Dh100 (approximately Rs 2,270) for a 4-day visa, and Dh250 (approximately Rs 5,670) for a 14-day or 60-day visa. The fees are payable upon arrival at UAE immigration checkpoints. The expansion is expected to significantly increase tourism and economic activity between the two nations.
