**QUETTA, Pakistan (Feb. 14, 2025)** — At least 11 coal miners were killed and six others injured in a bomb attack in southwestern Pakistan on Friday. The explosion targeted a truck carrying 17 miners to a mine in the Harnai area of Balochistan province. A roadside improvised explosive device, possibly remotely detonated, was responsible for the attack. A local hospital reported two of the injured are in critical condition. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing. Balochistan, a mineral-rich province bordering Iran and Afghanistan, is plagued by a long-running separatist insurgency and the presence of Islamist militants.
